Hello my friends!

I want to give a special hello and thank you to my new friends from Beauty Broadcast, Anna and Cindy. You have lifted my spirits and made me smile all day long. I really thought no one had read any of my posts. I hope I keep your interest and by all means let me know if you have any suggestions.

I have started a video diary of my use of the Theraderm system. Guys I am not a on camera kind of girl. It is a whole different beast when you are video taping yourself and watching it back, over and over. I am working on learning some video manipulation software and there is a huge learning curve. Of course my husband can do this in his sleep, he is like "just go there", just click that" arghhh.

All of the brushes I finally have received are now cleaned, super glued back together and drying over night. Some of the dual ended crown brushes came apart but my Urban Decay dual ended brush that came with my Naked 3 palette came apart as well. The Dermabrush works beautifully, I really have no complaints other than it's not a Clairsonic. I just can't pay the price for one so I will be happy with my Dermabrush.

I am getting my post together about the program I would like to start for women who have struggled with addiction and have been incarcerated. God has really put this on my heart and I know he will show me the right path to make it come together. I would love to have your prayers and pray for the ones touched by addiction. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the prayers of so many.

Much Love and God Bless,

Kelleyjo

It's here, it's finally here!

For all of you guys who are reading my blog, I believe that consists of me at the moment... The products I have been waiting for are finally here.

1. Theraderm Cleansing System

2. Crown Brush Eye Set

3.Crown Brush 12 piece Synthetic pro brush roll

4. Dermabrush

First impressions just out of the box, I am thrilled. The Dermabrush wasn't over $20, eye brush set wasn't over $10, 12 pc. set wasn't over $15. My aunt set me the Theraderm so I believe if you bought it through the office where she works the travel kit I have was on sale for $10. I will get the exact price next time. The Crown Brushes are on Hautelook right now. They seem to be on at least once a month that I've notice. Another very reasonable place to get brushes Makeupgeek.com. I have Marlena's brushes, some for over a year now and they are some of my goto brushes for everyday use and great, great price. Check out her makeup too, love the gel liners and the shadows are Mac quality without the Mac price..

I will start tonight with the new skin care routine and get my brushes all cleaned up and ready to use tomorrow. If you have any comments please send me a message and I will be happy to answer any questions.

Much Love and God Bless,

Thanks Mr. Goss

Hi guys, hope everyone is well.

Last night I was watching some tutorials on YouTube when I ran across Wayne Goss' s new video on a new way to apply foundation.  As you might imagine I was very skeptical but curious.  I mean this guy always has a tip or two that changes the way I do things when it comes to makeup. He is a truly talented person and a wonderful teacher.

So normally when I put my Foundation on I of course start with moisturizer then primer then foundation,  most of us do.  Wayne said to follow your primer with setting powder, then your liquid or mineral foundation.  I know, you are like that will never work.  So this morning I tried it.  Wow, huge, huge difference.  Go check his video out at www.gossmakeupartist.com, it will change everything.

On another note... The Theraderm system that I am going to start using is on it's way from my grandmother's house back in Georgia. She is also sending my Hautelook.com orders that have shipped to her house. I wasn't sure as to where my permanent address would be so hopefully I will be staying right where I am and I can get my other orders which haven't shipped sent here. If you have used Hautelook you know it can take a month to get your orders. I had a recent experience where my Lorac order shipping date kept changing. Finally they refunded my money and said they were unable to get enough product from the company for the order. Funny how the very next day on Hautelook another Lorac event started. They assured me I would receive this order if I chose to order, which I did. The customer service reps where awesome I have to say. They were very nice and regretful about the issues I was having

So Friday I will start using the Theraderm system, the Dermabrush and the Crown brush set I've ordered. That means I can finally start to get some reviews posted after a month or so on those products.

Much Love and God Bless,

Kelleyjo

New Found Luv....

Hi guys, I have found a new way to catalog our likes and wants, Luvocracy.com. I have started a collection and I've seen several of the popular beauty bloggers and YouTube beauty gurus all have collection pages. Marlena at Makeup Geek did a Lazy Day tag and I have done my own #Lazyday collections as well

Go check Luvocracy out guys and start your own collections. The super neat thing is that you can purchase the item you find and love. The site will go out and find the cheapest price on the item and serve as the go between for you.

Home page: Luvocracy.com

After you guys set your collection up go over to YouTube and check out Marlena's  #Lazyday video, be sure to subscribe to both her channels there and find Makeupgeektv on Luvocracy too. She really got me interested in makeup watching her videos. Her makeup line is awesome so try it out also. I've had some of her brushes for over a year now and they are all still in great shape.

Much Love and God Bless,

Dolly and I

Dolly and I in our favorite chair
Today I watched some tutorials by one of my favorite YouTube makeup guru's Wayne Goss. He does a Smokey eye tutorial for hooded eyes that I love. So I had been spending my day doing skin care and I thought I would try it before I cleaned my brushes.  I'm not very camera happy so not sure if you can tell allot by the picture of me with my dear friend, my dog Dolly, I think it turned out pretty gosh darn good.
BTW, don't forget about the 21 Days of Beauty Steals at Ulta, this starts week 2.

We are waiting on the dead to walk tonight on A&E. The Walking Dead is my favorite TV show right now and anytime it's in a new season, so it's a Sunday night must see for me.

Don't forget to check out Gossmakeupartist.com, you can link above or from his page to his multiple YouTube channels, you won't regret it.

What a disappointment

I had told you guys in my previous post about the Urban Decay Hautelook event, I was not thrilled with the choices of products.  The one primer potion is the one called Greed. This is the only one in their line that you can find most days at Ulta for the same price.  The reason for this,  it's got shimmer.  You can make this work, I do.  When I picked this up at Ulta for $10, I was over the moon. Then I got home and figured out the shimmer secret. There isn't anything on the tube that says it contains shimmer.  It is called Greed and if you know what that means in Urban Decay speak your golden. This old girl did not.

To use the Urban Decay primer potion Greed..
Use the eyeshadow primer as you would with any eyeshadow primer.  To hide the shimmer, since I am 40 years old and have hooded eyes, I don't use shimmer all over my lids.
I use the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in milk and put a light coating from lash line to crease.  I then blend it out making it even carrying it up right under my brow bone. This gives me the benefit of using this awesome eyeshadow primer for half the cost and zero shimmer.

By no means am I saying anything negative about Hautelook. If you can wait for shipment it is the holy grail of bargain buy websites. I have the app on my phone and I look ahead at up coming events. I use the app daily. If it is an event I want to get something from I make sure I log on when the event starts. There are limited product inventory and I have logged on 30 minutes into an event to see a sold out banner across the product I was looking for.

Enjoy this wonderful Saturday guys. I am off to work a double. Don't forget about the Ulta 21 days of beauty steals, today is Philosophy foundations for $25 each, as well as free brow wax when you spend $50 on Benefit products. They are also having a ton of other in store and online events.

Much love and God bless,

Kelleyjo

URBAN DECAY is coming to Hautelook.com

Tomorrow at 11 a.m. est Hautelook will host Urban Decay. Ladies, Hautelook generally discounts the products in the event up to 75%. I am sure you are all familiar with Urban Decay. If not, try the eye shadow primer, it is AWESOME!
I would like to add that Hautelook has a great customer service department. My first event that I made a purchase from was Lorac. I haven't received those products and the delivery date keeps changing. I called and inquired as to why this is happening. I was told that Lorac didn't send enough product to fulfill the orders and Hautelook was waiting on more product. The customer service rep offered to refund my shipping charges and to send me an email on Monday after further investigation so she could give me more information. Kudos to the wonderful young lady I spoke to, I wish I could remember her name.

Much Love and God Bless

Celebrating It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation

I told you guys that I had received the QVC New Year,Your Most Beautiful You 5 Piece Collection. Here is what's included...

1. 2 in 1 Bye Bye Under Eye/Hello Light Brightener
2. Celebration Foundation
3. Heavenly Luxe Double Airbrush Foundation Brush
4. Feel The Moment Anti Aging Serum Primer
5. Heavenly Luxe Sensory Sweeping Fan Brush

So I had changed foundation probably a month ago from the Clinique Even Better, which I have used since September of 2013 to the Estee Lauder Resilience Lift. I did a lot of research as I call it, getting samples and just using the products before I spend lots of money on something I am unhappy with down the road.

I ordered the QVC collection for the sole purpose of getting the Feel the Moment primer serum. I had seen and heard so much about this product especially for my dry skin, as to it's powerful hydrating effects and that is was just a great overall product for aging skin.

So I used the primer as directed and I had seen Emilynoel83 on YouTube, check her channel out she is AWESOME, review it and recommended letting it absorb for a couple of minutes before you put on the foundation, and I did. So I started putting on the Celebration foundation with the foundation brush that came with it. I used small circles to apply it and I immediately could see my red, uneven skin tone start to just disappear. I wasn't having to keep reloading my brush with product, I wasn't having to go over the area and build coverage. It matched my skin color perfectly. I wan't having to spend a ton of time blending it into my neck and jawline like many foundations I have tried in the past. It is so hard to impress me guys and this did. I really went into this thinking the foundation wasn't going to work because it was a powder form and most of the mineral makeups or powder type foundations just don't work on my dry skin, they leave me with dry patches and just a dry look to my skin.

I have used the foundation for 2 days and I have had consistent results. The other products, bronzer, blush and highlighter blended and looked great on top of this foundation. So in conclusion, I am over the moon about this product. I will continue to keep you updated and I am going to keep using this and trying other products with it as we go along.

I will try to post something in regards to the Estee Lauder foundation. Just an update the Theraderm system hasn't been sent to me yet by my grandmother. I might be moving so I'm kinda waiting to see what happens. Ive been using the 3 in 1 Timewise cleanser by Mary Kay, the step 2 exfoliate by Clinique and the Clinique moisturizer along with a drop of Maracuja oil by Tarte. Of course after I moisturize I let it absorb followed by the It Cosmetics primer serum and I let that absorb as well.

I did promise some information on the Naturally Pretty It Matte Lux palette. I had sent It cosmetics an email about the brush not being included and this was the response.

Hi Kelley!

Thank you for your email and for being an IT Girl!!! We are so happy to hear that you found IT And are loving IT!!!  We love to hear this!  We are so sorry for any confusion but the only place that the Naturally Pretty Palette comes with the brush in a set is on QVC!  We love our partnership with QVC as it does allow our It Girls to get such great deals and sets!!!

21 Days of Beauty Steals

Hi guys,
So the It Cosmetics QVC New Year New You came today and I will get started on using it and getting a good idea of what I think about all the included products.

I went to Ulta this morning when they opened for day 2 of the 21 Days of Beauty Steals. I have the first page of the sale paper from last week on my mirror and all the days that I need to be there circled. So this was my first day and I wanted to grab the Stila In The Know palette for $20. That is a GREAT buy on this palette. It is a all matte, 10 shades and includes an eyeliner pencil. I also picked up the It Cosmetic Naturally Pretty Vol 1 Matte Luxe Transforming Eyeshadow Palette. I am so excited about this. Turns out it's been out since last year but working very hard to hide itself from me. I had never seen a review nor seen it in the stores, nada. The one problem I have right out of the package is there is no brush! I have seen the brush included in reviews, tutorials and on QVC, I believe. So I sent It Cosmetics a quick email to see if I can find out why.

So I will post pictures and swatches very soon..

Much love and God bless

Korres HSN Eyeliner Pencils, 6 shade set

I had an HSN gift card for $10 I was itching to spend before it expired.  Late one night last week they were having a Korres show.  I have heard of the brand but I'm not real knowledgeable about the products or the brand.  They had the 6 color eyeliner pencil set on flex pay so I ordered it. I ended up only paying $18 including shipping.
So I got them in today and my first impressions are pretty good.  There are 6 colors,  Black 1/Metallic Brown 3/Metallic Grey 6/Blue 8/Silver 5S/Golden 6S. The S apparently stands for soft.  The swatches in the picture are in the order that I listed above left to right. They came with little packaging but included a card listing ingredients for each. It also started that it was natural as well as paraben free, mineral oil free, silicone free, propylene glycol free and ethanolamine free.
The second swatch picture was taken maybe 5 minutes after I swatched it on my arm. I ran my finger across them and it smudged easily. Once I did that it seemed to settle and became less movable.  I will wear them tonight and see how they hold up to kitchen heat and sweat at the restaurant I work at.
Much love and God bless,
Kelleyjo

Laying the foundation

This is my routine and my opinions. I have based this on many hours of reading, watching videos, and using the products which I have purchased during the last few years.  That being said. .. I told you about my cleansing process in my first post, this is my next step.

Once you have a clean canvas you want to moisturize, moisturize, don't forget to moisturize.  This is so important for keeping wrinkles at bay, keeping your color even and just good skin health.  I've read different opinions about eye creams.  Some say it's just a way to make more money by selling a different product for every part of your face and body.  I've been using the Clinique laser repair that I have gotten in my free gift with purchase.  As I stated in my prior posts I haven't seen a difference in the last 6 months of use. However that doesn't mean I haven't prevented crows feet or other forms of aging.

Something I have added in the last month is a  Maracuja oil from Tarte. I use my ring-finger to gently dab it under and around the outside corners of my eyes. Once I've done this I take my step 3 moisturizer from Clinique and put it into my palm where I had the oil.  I then add another couple of drops to my hand, combine and massage into my face with an upward motion. I then continue down my neck and onto my décolletage  The next step is important, let it be absorbed before you continue on to primer.  I wait at least 3 minutes, longer if I'm not in a hurry.

I have read so many great reviews about the Feel the Moment Serum Sensory Primer I had to try it. So I am about to turn my beauty regimen on it's ear. I am changing everything. Changing my cleanser to the Theraderm, my primer to the It serum. Guess what, you are along for the ride.

I will post an interview with my Aunt, LIsa Humphrey from the Chattanooga Plastic Surgery Group later in the week. Hope we can find better skin together, 41 is creeping up real quick.

Much love and God Bless,

Kelleyjo

Good advice for my aging skin

I recently traveled home for an overnight stay to take care of some business I have to finish regarding property that my mother left me.  My aunt came by and she has always kind of been my go to for advice about skin care.

She has worked as a nurse for a local group of plastic surgeons for close to 30 years.  She has always spoke highly about fruit acids being the Holy grail of keeping aging skin wrinkle free and repairing sun damage as well as evening out skin tone. I have received several sample size gifts of this type of product called Theraderm. When I inquired today about getting and using a prescription of retinol A she quickly said why would I use an expensive prescription when I can purchase the Theraderm travel size set for $10 on sale through her office without a prescription. I told her that I had been using the Clinique 3 step system faithfully for 7 months.  It works for the most part but it doesn't seem to be reversing any damage just keeping breakouts away and maybe halting any further damage.  She told me although it's a great product it is known for being mild and great for very sensitive skin however, I need something much stronger now and at my age I want to be more aggressive if I want to protect my skin.
In conclusion, I am changing to the Theraderm system next week and I will track the results very closely and post my ongoing results on a weekly basis.

Much love and God bless,
Kelleyjo

A great place to start, A clean palette

I truly believe to be a successful makeup artist you have to have an artistic ability on some level. I don't believe I have any. I do have the ability to see what works for me and possibly others. My greatest talent is communication with others, so here goes.

I was thinking about what my first post would be about and I decided to start with the canvas.Your face is your canvas and keeping your face clean is so important, especially as we age. Just for a baseline about the skin I am working with it has always been more dry than oily. I have been using Clinique's 3 step cleaning system and it is working very well for me. I started using it in September of 2013 and I have used it faithfully since then.

I did have some small breakouts in the first few weeks but I understood that this should be expected when starting a new skin regimen. After using it daily for probably 6 weeks the breakout diminished and I no longer have them. I am satisfied with the Clinique 3 step system. My skin is soft yet firm and I haven't noticed any additional aging since using it. I have a dark spot under my eye that I believe has gotten lighter and the dry patches I used to have around my nose and forehead have diminished altogether. The coloring of my skin doesn't seem to have changed much, I still have some uneven skin tone. I really don't expect much from any products I use on my skin, it keeps the disappointment at a minimum.

The great thing about using Clinique is the bonus gifts. You can find a schedule for these as well as what store is having them here, Clinique Bonus Time. There is almost always, in my experience, a sample of the step 3 moisturizer in these gifts. Usually you only have to spend $27.00 to get them so if you buy the first 2 steps that will give you the total you need to qualify for the gift.

In the last few bonus gifts I received the sample size of the Repairwear Laser Focus eye cream. Although I have been using it along with the 3 step system I haven't noticed a real difference.

If you decide to try these products don't forget to look for the bonus gift and make your purchase around it. Clinique is a great company in my experience and the prices on their products are very affordable compaired to many others.

Thanks for reading my 1st post.

Much love and God Bless

KelleyJo
