On The Daily, Part 1

Hi guys, thanks for coming back.

So I have been struggling as I have said in previous posts with just having enough room to move around.  I’m sure a lot of you know if you are unorganized and there is a lot of clutter around it’s very hard to think.  Your mind is in the same shape as your surroundings.  So even though I have things as well organized as possible it’s still pretty bad.  I have put all of my plans for this blog, future YouTube channel and most importantly my nonprofit on hold until we move.  The problem is we haven’t, I thought we would have found something and I would have been completely unpacked and half way to normal long before now.  I believe everything happens for a reason and my grandmother has really needed someone here for the first time ever.  She is very independent and has never had any health issues until lately.  I have touched briefly on her pinched nerve and if everything goes as planned after Monday, and a 2nd steroid injection, she will be back to doing everything she has always done for herself.  For 86 years old she is defiantly an exception to the rule and I admire her very, very much.  (BTW The injection went very well!)

I was watching my YouTube subscription videos this morning, as usual, and everyone has been doing a summer essentials video.  I decided I would do a daily essentials because I have never done a GRWM or anything similar so this is it.  I have found some true holy grail products in the last couple of months.  Since I am struggling to get everything else off the ground I figured this would be easy since everything in this blog post is kept very close and it’s not packed in a box, stacked in a closet or way back in the back of a large storage building.  I’ve gone back and cut this into a 2 part series because it was getting so long I don’t want to bore you guys so lets get started…

Skin Prep

Tea Tree Soap: I have talked extensively about my skin care routine on this blog.  I am still using the Theraderm once a day in the evening.  In the morning I wash my face with an organic Tea Tree soap.  Since I am using so much at night and I believe it is possible to over exfoliate and take away natural oils your skin needs I keep it simple in the morning.  This just keeps my face free of bacteria and preventing any bacterial breakouts.  Be careful not to get Tea Tree oil in your eyes, it is very irritating and it burns badly.

truth serumOle Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster: Since I got the 3 little wonders from Sephora I have used them all up with the exception of this serum.  I use it after I wash my face and it seems to brighten my skin.  It claims to have many benefits like supporting natural cell turnover, repairing cell damage as well as providing natural vitamin C.  It smells good too.  A little bit goes a long way and I believe I will repurchase this when it’s empty.

protect the truthOle Henriksen Protect the Truth SPF 50+: This was one of the products that came in the Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit that I included in my Birthday Haul post.  I firmly believe in wearing SPF everyday no matter what the season is, I believe my lack of sun exposure and tanning bed ban has directly kept my skin looking very youthful and healthy.  This is a great one that has vitamin C in it and gives you the extra protection from the sun with the high SPF.  It doesn’t smell like SPF and has the wonderful vitamin C and great orange aroma.  It blends in easily and is sheer enough to wear under your favorite moisturizer.

moisturizerTheraderm Facial Moisturizer: Thick, oil free moisturizer that is included in my skin care system.  I use it twice a day both as my moisturizer under my makeup in the morning as well as my nighttime moisturizer after my nightly skin care routine using my Theraderm system.  I’ve done a few posts about the Theraderm you can go back and read if you are interested in this system by Therapon, the above link is for the entire 12 posts that include Theraderm.

Hourglass primerHourglass N° 28 Primer Serum: I love this primer!  It is expensive so I don’t use it daily but I would if it was more reasonably priced.  This does however come in 2 sizes 0.33 for $22.00 or 1.0 FL oz for $65.00 on Sephora.com.  My foundation goes on effortlessly and stays put all day even in this heat and humidity.  The serum is so silky and I love the feel of it on my skin.  It is oil based and my dry skin drinks it in but it doesn’t have a greasy feel to it at all.  I just really love Hourglass products I wish they weren’t so expensive but the ones I’ve tried so far are worth every penny.

It Cosmetics CCIt Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+: If you haven’t seen or read anything about this product from It Cosmetics you are living under a rock.  This is one of those products people are passionate about, they either love it so much or really just hate it.  Most, including myself love it.  I have some really uneven skin tone and most CC creams just do not have the coverage I need to feel comfortable.  This is the first one I’ve tried that is absolutely full coverage with options.  You can sheer this out to cover like a traditional CC cream or you can build it up for the full coverage you would only expect out of a liquid or cream foundation.  The “+” is it is good for your skin and it has an SPF of 50 without all of the usual unwanted effects of wearing a heavy SPF.  The only thing I dislike about this product is the price.  It is comparable to any mid range price of foundation but I love it so much I use it every day and that can get expensive.  You get 1.08 FL oz. for $38.00.  I did find it on QVC for $34.68 plus $4.47 S&H so you really aren’t saving anything unless you can find it on flex pay and you can spread the cost across a couple of months.  QVC also offers this on auto delivery every 60 days and if you can catch it on TSV you can lock in the price offered that day.

I went ahead a chopped this post down as well.  I talk a lot in my day to day life so I guess it directly translates to my blogging, sorry if it's to long.  Thanks again and I will follow with the rest of my daily favorites here in a day or so.

Much Love and God Bless,

Birthday Brow Miracle and Some Theraderm Too

Hi guys, thanks for coming back.

I don’t think I have written about my horrible brow experience as well as my daily brow misery.  I have been getting my brows done at the closest nail shop, you know the one on every corner, for years.  I have never been good at tweezing, waxing, filling in and shaping my brows, ever.  So after years of frustration I decided a couple of months ago I would pay the $20.00 fee charged at the Ulta brow bar.  I assumed that this would be what I had been missing in my brow routine and I would come out looking like a normal women with really great brows.  Assumptions are dangerous and this one was as well.  The young lady didn’t have anyone in her chair and I hadn’t made an appointment so I asked if she had time.  She said sure and sat me down.  Not 1 minute later a lady approaches and says “Hey I’m here!”  Apparently I had been worked in during the 3 minute break between clients.  Whirlwind wax and pluck and out the door.  I wasn’t asked if I wanted any specific shape or if I needed any help with what I was using at home, nothing.  I had even brought my Urban Decay Brow Box along with every brow pencil I owned just to get some education.  The education came from the look of my brows afterwards.  I had a huge gap in the arch of my right brow along with no real shape to the other parts of my brows.

I decided to let my brows grow out.  I had been reading in a ton of beauty blogs that it was the thing to do, start fresh.  Over the last 3 months that is just what I’ve done, I couldn’t take it anymore and decided it was time.  My question was where do I go?  There is the nail places, Ulta (different location than last time), random beauty shop or the girl in the mall who does the threading.  As you already know I served time in prison and I have a deep understanding of threading, it hurts!  So I asked around at Sephora, they recommended the girl who does the threading, I asked at the Mac counter in Belk, Jackpot!  The two girls who work there knew a girl who used to work there.  So I said sounds good, best idea I had heard all day.

I was given the cell phone number of an aesthetician who had worked at Mac a few years ago and was currently working in a local beauty studio.  I made my appointment for the next day and off I went.  Sarah Crisp is a slender built, young lady with big beautiful eyes and a glow that just lets you know its all ok.  This was going to be perfect.  She had a great little room, dimmed light and a table to lay down on.  I laid down, shut my eyes and we just talked.  She asked me what I wanted in regards to my brows and I told her all about my journey that brought me to her.

Sarah put me at ease and the conversation was very pleasant.  She told me she had tinted my brows because they were so light and it would last a week or so.  She waxed and plucked for over 30 minutes.  She told me to sit up so she could see them while I was upright.  She plucked one here and one there.  She was finished, she handed me the mirror.

I’m not sure why I am so emotional about eye brows, I cried.  Tears streamed down my face as I looked in the little mirror, these were tears of joy.  They are beautiful, absolutely perfect!  Brushing my brows out is now my favorite part of my makeup routine.  I will visit her monthly to keep them looking perfect and the bonus is that she wants to help with the nonprofit.

Just like most, Sarah has been touched by addiction, her best friend has almost a year clean as well as an ex-boyfriend.  She offered her services as well as gift certificates we can auction off or sell for profit.  I believe God puts people in your path for a reason.  Sometimes we are unsure of the reason but this one is so clear.
If you are in my area and you would like to have Sarah’s contact information you may contact me and I will be very happy to pass it on to you.  She is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee and is a licensed aesthetician preforming facials as well.  I can’t wait to go back for my hour of pampering.  The brow service was $15.00 and worth so much more.
clip_image001
I finished my travel size Theraderm products and I bought another travel size so I could continue using it, I’m still not sure enough to jump in for the entire $150.00 full size system.  This time instead of the regular moisturizer I got the peptide hydrator to see if that might make a difference.  I’m not sure I am very happy with the results from use of the Theraderm system.  I have been using it every day for 7 weeks.  In the last 2 weeks I have begun using it twice a day.  Because it is a fruit acid exfoliate I have decided to go back to only once a day.  I picked up the Ole Henriksen 3 little wonders from Sephora on Friday.  I decided to add something hoping it will boast my results.  I also will have medical insurance in the next 30 days and look forward to seeing a dermatologist.
clip_image002
I believe I will give the Theraderm only until I finish this travel size.  I only got the small size of the Ole Henriksen 3 little wonders so I will also give it until I finish them as well.

Thank you so much for reading my blog.  The nonprofit is really coming together.  Everyone I speak to about it really believes it is a great idea and offers to help where they can.  I hope to post a poll as to the name here soon.

Much Love and God Bless,

KelleyJo

Theraderm 1 Month Review

Hi guys, thanks for coming back to my blog.

So tomorrow is my 1 month mark from the time I started the Theraderm Skin Renewal system. I have really been dedicated to using this and just finding out if it works. Keep in mind also that I used the Clinique 3 step system daily since September of last year until the time when I started this system. The products I have are the travel set and you can buy it from their website as well. The travel size set is $20 and the full size set which includes all 4 products is $140. In the world of skin care that is really affordable. A lot of skin care lines are much more expensive, however you can find something that works for almost any budget.

So as I have already told you this was recommended by my Aunt who works for a plastic surgery group and has been with them for like 30 years. She has recommended this product in the past and I wasn’t as concerned with my skin as I have become recently. I had pretty good luck as a teenager and didn’t have acne or any real trouble keeping my skin clear. Even up into my 30’s my skin was in pretty good condition. I never went to the tanning bed and I never spent a lot of time in the sun. Most of my family have medical careers, my mother was an x-ray tech, my aunt and uncle both nurses and I even have a couple of cousins that are in medicine as well. So I was always aware of the dangers of UV light even back when everybody thought the tanning bed wouldn’t hurt them. Of course we know now just how bad the sun and UV light is for our skin.

My chief complaints with my skin now are dark spots, a large one in particular on my cheek and uneven tone and color. The texture of my skin has remained fairly soft and firm. My first goal is to prevent further damage and aging to my skin. I believe I have done that to some extent. I haven’t developed any new dark spots or any noticeable fine lines and wrinkles. I believe from looking back at pictures I have taken to document the effectiveness of the product that the dark spot on my cheek has in fact gotten somewhat lighter in color. I can also tell that the redness in my cheeks is not so bright and easier to cover with makeup. I have also started washing my face prior to using the Theraderm cleanser with a tea tree soap. I have just started doing this in the last week but it does seem to leave my skin less dry than just using the cleanser.

Be sure if you are unfamiliar with my previous posts relating to this journey to use the label index in the left hand column to jump to the other posts.

The travel size has lasted me a month almost to the day. I do still have a small bit of cleanser and step 2 and 3. I am completely out of the application rounds for the acid and I’m out of the moisturizer. I am hoping to get more product and keep going for at least another month so I can have a better idea of how well the product works. Things are kind of shaking up in my world with my husband starting a new job soon. We appreciate all your prayers and well wishes so much and I would like to ask you to please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we make this transition.

Much Love and God Bless,

KelleyJo

Update On Theraderm Week 2

Hi guys, thanks for coming back.

I have been using the Theraderm system for a little over 2 weeks now. Prior to that I had been using the Clinique 3 step since September. In all seriousness I haven’t missed more than 2 nights using either system. Prior to my commitment to a skin care regimen I was never someone who sun bathed or used a tanning bed. I guess the worst damage I have done was my extended IV drug use. The worst damage I can see is broken capillaries. This damage seems to be isolated to my hands and wrists.  It looks like veracious veins, purple and broken. This also seems to keep my hands dehydrated. Luckily my complexion hasn’t sustained too much damage on my face. I am doing everything I can to keep the signs of aging at bay.

So 2 weeks in and not much of a noticeable difference. I think maybe the texture of my skin is a little softer. My dark spot seems to be the same color, I had hoped it would have lightened some by now but it hasn't. I am still using all of the same products that I had listed in a previous post. I use all of the Theraderm products, the Dermabrush during the cleansing step as well as 100% argan oil, additional moisturizers and the Olay eye gel.

I am really frustrated. Maybe I am expecting too much but shouldn’t I see more results at this point? I have been so dedicated to this and I really thought almost 8 months in it would defiantly be noticeable. If anyone of you guys have more recommendations or suggestions I would love to have them. I can’t afford to buy more expensive products than what I have spent already. I had asked my Aunt who works for the Plastic surgery group if she could help me get a Clarisonic since they now carried them, of course she said she couldn't, it never hurts to ask. I’m not sure however that it would make a difference.

Once again guys thank you so much for reading my posts and please leave me a comment if you have any input on this topic. As always…

Much Love and God Bless,

KelleyJo

The Urban Decay makeover and a brief rant about Ulta associates.....

Hi Guys, thanks for stopping by.

So I had this appointment with an Urban Decay makeup artist at Ulta since the 1st week of beauty steals. I overheard the manager talking about the UD team coming and I stuck my nose in and said hey what’s going on with the Urban Decay event? So she made me the appointment and it was today.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrhT3erP9EswX9X96hrvJIXkCQIM8CXmQCz3o0CbcBdHNn8W09TnvccMsSJJ61FtZCG4xFLaelpHNWJMjMLr0Iek5BQfVXwaqTJ5el5SZxFSQZ2FFP57-SeFCgybcoZeCydVIAdOrpNPem/s1600/20140412_132539.jpg

So let me just say that the very, young man was very nice and very talented. They had set up right inside the front door. Apparently I really didn't need an appointment because I walked in and they offered to do my makeup. He asked me what it was I was interested in and if I used UD products? I told him I would like to see the new Naked foundation, curious if it would give me the amount of coverage I require to feel comfortable when leaving the house. I told him I really just wanted some hands on education. I wasn't interested of course in the new Electric palette because I simply do not wear those types of colors but I could appreciate it from a distance, it was displayed all around where they were set up.

So I love the foundation, it did give me the coverage as well as the hydration I need from a foundation. It matched my skin tone and color, it gave me the flawless finish we all desire from our makeup. He applied a little blush using the orange color in the Electric palette and that was it. No eye shadow, no contouring, just a little foundation and blush. I know this was free but I was just expecting more from an Urban Decay, Ulta event. I thought surely I would get a small goody bag or samples or something. They didn't even pressure me to buy products and it's a good thing because I took zero money.

I want to thank the young man once again, I believe his name was Louis. I am sure he stayed within whatever guidelines where set up for the event. I stayed and walked around looking for self-tanners on clearance and spring items within my $9.00 worth of Ulta reward points.

For the most part the ladies and gentleman that work at Ulta are nice. I have had some great exchanges with a handful of the associates and the manager at my local location is wonderful however, some of them are just so stuck up it makes me nauseous. One I have in mind I believe is the Lancome specialist. I asked her about a Lorac product and she was just not friendly at all and this is not my first experience with her. I had my brows done a few months ago at the brow bar, by a different associate, it wasn't a great experience either. Come to find out she didn't do some of the things required at one of these appointments and she gave me zero education. I told her I was there to have them shaped for the first time outside of the $8.00 nail salon wax. I was clueless when it comes to keeping my brows up and I told her this. Is this not a customer based business?  Do we want our makeup associates to treat us like we are on a lower level than they are. Do we not stand on the same earth or is their ground just a little more elevated than mine? I have been in the customer service industry for 20 plus years. I just do not understand how this is OK just because they work at a makeup store or counter.

Sorry about the little rant but I know anyone who has been in an Ulta or at the Macy's makeup counter, just a general reference, not a specific counter, has had a similar experience. I am the last person to think I am better than anybody else because I know where I have been... lol

Tomorrow I will post my Theraderm update, it won't be very long because I really haven't noticed many improvements. Thank you all for reading my new About Me page and the comments that were left on my Facebook feed were so sweet, thank you again.

Much Love and God Bless,

KelleyJo

Empty Target Shelves

Hi Guys!!

So I told you that I was going to go check out the Pixie brand clearance items at Target and I did. I went by yesterday and found in total about 3 items left. Not sure if it might have been Emily's video or they had just been on clearance for a while, but it was cleaned out. Seriously there was like 1 shadow single, a lipstick and a brow gel and that was between both the Pixie and the Sonia Kashuk brand. To late to the party, not the first time...lol

Tomorrow I am going to my local Ulta store for a Urban Decay makeover. Not sure what that will involve but I'm pretty excited. Like any self conscious female my first thought is what will the artist think of me. The biggest thing I have running through my mind is my age, like what is this old lady doing in a young women's world. I know it's crazy but I can't help it, I'm just a girl...

Wish I had some other news to tell you guys but it's been a quite few days. I did pick up the Nivea Creme in the little tin, it's awesome. Seen a great video about 5 Surprising Uses for Nivea Creme. Also picked up the HD Eye Shadow Base by NYX and I will let you know how it works for me very soon. I found that one of my local, not the one closest to me of course, CVS carries NYX and it is usually buy 1 get 2nd for 1/2 off, so I grabbed a brow pencil in taupe and had pretty good results with it this morning. I don't think I have mentioned this but my brows are my most frustrating, aggravating just nerve racking thing I have to deal with on the daily. I have read tutorials, watched videos, you name it, nothing helps.... Until this one little blog post I found the other day. It was on The Beauty Department and it was how to use a brow brush. This one little post, with illustrations and pictures, has changed my life forever!!! Check it out if you have the same evil nemesis lurking on your forehead.

Still using the Theraderm and I will have a weekly update in the next few days. Be sure to read my new page, About Me. I know a little narcissistic but I added some more information about my family and some pictures of those that I love. Thank you so much for reading this and please subscribe and leave a comment... Would love to know more about you.. Also if you can tell me where to find my blogs media URL so I can put Pintrest buttons on my posts that would be so incredible. I keep trying and I can't make them work for some reason.

Much Love and God Bless,

KelleyJo

Theraderm Day 10

Hi all, just a quick update on my Theraderm skin system.

So this is day 10 and I have used it every day since I started.
Just a recap I use my Dermabrush for the 1st step, the cleanser. I try to go over my entire face with longer focus on my dark spot on my cheek and places you might first start to see wrinkles, forehead, laugh lines, crows feet. The 2nd step is the actual acid. The system came with small round application pads that you drop 10 drops of the acid solution onto, then wipe it across face, neck and even eye lids. This has a slight stinging sensation. I thought maybe at first it was the pads and they were just rough on my skin. This wasn't the case, I wiped my face with one without the acid solution and it was soft. This is a great indicator, to me anyway, that the acid is working. This also leaves my face slightly red. This is followed by the 3rd step the repair solution. This has a slight soothing feeling across the skin. Finally it's the moisturizer. I then use my own cocktail of Olay eye cream, 100% argan oil and the Clinique Repairware laser Focus.

So 10 days in I believe the dark spot on my cheek is actually a little lighter and my skin might be slightly softer to the touch. I haven't noticed a real change in my skin in regard to firmness, tone and pores. I never have had any real issues with large pores, hopefully it won’t have a negative enlarging effect. In the morning I use a facial self-tanner so it absorbs and the oils from the night before have been absorbed completely.

I hope this is helpful to anyone who might be looking for a new skin care regimen. I am trying to get my hands on a Clarisonic to see if it might help to accelerate the Theraderm system. For now I only have the Dermabrush, it seems to do a good job at a much better price.

BTW Stila travel palettes will be on Hautelook.com in the morning. Right now there are 3 different cosmetic companies and Billion Dollar Brow on Hautelook, and this is the week I am broke. lol

 Much Love and God Bless,

 KelleyJo

Theraderm Skin Cleansing System, Day 5

Hello, Hope everyone is doing very, very well today. I am on day 5 for the Theraderm Clinical Skin System. So I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on my thoughts about this skin cleansing system.

Not sure if I had mentioned it but I have used this product for a brief time before now. My Aunt had gotten the travel size for the ladies in my family for Christmas and I’m sure, do to my young age at the time, I didn't keep it up and wasn't very concerned with my skin. Anyway I am so far pretty happy with my skin. I broke out terribly when I started using the Clinique 3 Step system and took that as a result of starting the new skin routine. This time I haven’t experienced any breakouts so far. I think my skin was a little red the first time I used it but nothing I was overly concerned with. I believe I explained in one of my prior posts that it was a 4 step system. So here is a brief description and picture of each product and how I use it.

   1. Cleansing Wash, I have been using my Dermabrush to clean my face with the first product in the system. It lathers up nice and has no real smell to it.

2.Fruit Acid Exfoliate, I put 10 drops of this on the round   application pads and rub it all over the face as well as eye lids.

   3. OPC Reparative Gel, I use my fingers to rub a thin layer all over my face,      neck and eye lids.

   4. Enriched Facial Moisturizer, I rub a small amount over  entire face, neck and eye lids.

None of the products seem to have a strong smell associated with them, which is great for anyone who might me sensitive to certain aromas. I used to have a sensitivity to a lot of different smells, they would give me migraine headache, that was such a miserable thing to have happen just from smelling a nice perfume or even certain foods. So, I am very pleased with the system so far and I will come back on a weekly basis and give you updates. I just want to add that I do follow this with additional moisturizers, oils and eye cream. I am using the Tarte Maracuja Oil under my eyes, Olay Eye serum around my eyes and Clinique’s Repairware Laser Focus on my fine lines and wrinkles around the corners of my eyes, forehead and laugh lines. I also still use the It Cosmetics Feel The Moment primer serum before applying my makeup.

Don't forget guys to go check out the Luvocracy page and app. I really love putting my collections together and I would love to see your's as well.

This is the last week of Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty Steals. I wanted to get the Laura Geller Baked Highlighter and dual ended brush that is featured today for $15.00 instead of the usual $44.00. I have had a bit of bad luck with my former employer.

I had to quit do to a tone he took with me over a statement I made in front of a customer about how much money was made the night before. I didn't even know the gentleman was walking up to the buffet, nevertheless I was told in the back “Do not ever say anything about money ever again in front of a customer, do you hear me Kelley, do you understand?”. I wish I was able to include a audio clip for you to hear the tone that was used when he said this to me, it was degrading and unacceptable. My husband doesn't talk to me in this tone and no other person is going to either. Anyway payday was Friday and I was told my check was mailed on Friday, today is Tuesday and I still didn't receive my check. I do not believe it takes 4 days for mail to come when it was mailed in the same city it is being delivered in. So all that being said I didn't have the $5.00 to pick this product up. I was going to even give in and use my $9.00 in points to get the cost down.

I am going to post my March favorites in a separate post so be sure to go read it when I get it uploaded. Take care you guys and I will talk to you all very soon.

Much Love and God Bless,

Kelleyjo

Hello my friends!

I want to give a special hello and thank you to my new friends from Beauty Broadcast, Anna and Cindy. You have lifted my spirits and made me smile all day long. I really thought no one had read any of my posts. I hope I keep your interest and by all means let me know if you have any suggestions.

I have started a video diary of my use of the Theraderm system. Guys I am not a on camera kind of girl. It is a whole different beast when you are video taping yourself and watching it back, over and over. I am working on learning some video manipulation software and there is a huge learning curve. Of course my husband can do this in his sleep, he is like "just go there", just click that" arghhh.

All of the brushes I finally have received are now cleaned, super glued back together and drying over night. Some of the dual ended crown brushes came apart but my Urban Decay dual ended brush that came with my Naked 3 palette came apart as well. The Dermabrush works beautifully, I really have no complaints other than it's not a Clairsonic. I just can't pay the price for one so I will be happy with my Dermabrush.

I am getting my post together about the program I would like to start for women who have struggled with addiction and have been incarcerated. God has really put this on my heart and I know he will show me the right path to make it come together. I would love to have your prayers and pray for the ones touched by addiction. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the prayers of so many.

Much Love and God Bless,

Kelleyjo

It's here, it's finally here!

For all of you guys who are reading my blog, I believe that consists of me at the moment... The products I have been waiting for are finally here.

1. Theraderm Cleansing System

2. Crown Brush Eye Set

3.Crown Brush 12 piece Synthetic pro brush roll

4. Dermabrush

First impressions just out of the box, I am thrilled. The Dermabrush wasn't over $20, eye brush set wasn't over $10, 12 pc. set wasn't over $15. My aunt set me the Theraderm so I believe if you bought it through the office where she works the travel kit I have was on sale for $10. I will get the exact price next time. The Crown Brushes are on Hautelook right now. They seem to be on at least once a month that I've notice. Another very reasonable place to get brushes Makeupgeek.com. I have Marlena's brushes, some for over a year now and they are some of my goto brushes for everyday use and great, great price. Check out her makeup too, love the gel liners and the shadows are Mac quality without the Mac price..

I will start tonight with the new skin care routine and get my brushes all cleaned up and ready to use tomorrow. If you have any comments please send me a message and I will be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks Mr. Goss

Hi guys, hope everyone is well.

Last night I was watching some tutorials on YouTube when I ran across Wayne Goss' s new video on a new way to apply foundation.  As you might imagine I was very skeptical but curious.  I mean this guy always has a tip or two that changes the way I do things when it comes to makeup. He is a truly talented person and a wonderful teacher.

So normally when I put my Foundation on I of course start with moisturizer then primer then foundation,  most of us do.  Wayne said to follow your primer with setting powder, then your liquid or mineral foundation.  I know, you are like that will never work.  So this morning I tried it.  Wow, huge, huge difference.  Go check his video out at www.gossmakeupartist.com, it will change everything.

On another note... The Theraderm system that I am going to start using is on it's way from my grandmother's house back in Georgia. She is also sending my Hautelook.com orders that have shipped to her house. I wasn't sure as to where my permanent address would be so hopefully I will be staying right where I am and I can get my other orders which haven't shipped sent here. If you have used Hautelook you know it can take a month to get your orders. I had a recent experience where my Lorac order shipping date kept changing. Finally they refunded my money and said they were unable to get enough product from the company for the order. Funny how the very next day on Hautelook another Lorac event started. They assured me I would receive this order if I chose to order, which I did. The customer service reps where awesome I have to say. They were very nice and regretful about the issues I was having

So Friday I will start using the Theraderm system, the Dermabrush and the Crown brush set I've ordered. That means I can finally start to get some reviews posted after a month or so on those products.

Much Love and God Bless,

Laying the foundation

This is my routine and my opinions. I have based this on many hours of reading, watching videos, and using the products which I have purchased during the last few years.  That being said. .. I told you about my cleansing process in my first post, this is my next step.

Once you have a clean canvas you want to moisturize, moisturize, don't forget to moisturize.  This is so important for keeping wrinkles at bay, keeping your color even and just good skin health.  I've read different opinions about eye creams.  Some say it's just a way to make more money by selling a different product for every part of your face and body.  I've been using the Clinique laser repair that I have gotten in my free gift with purchase.  As I stated in my prior posts I haven't seen a difference in the last 6 months of use. However that doesn't mean I haven't prevented crows feet or other forms of aging.

Something I have added in the last month is a  Maracuja oil from Tarte. I use my ring-finger to gently dab it under and around the outside corners of my eyes. Once I've done this I take my step 3 moisturizer from Clinique and put it into my palm where I had the oil.  I then add another couple of drops to my hand, combine and massage into my face with an upward motion. I then continue down my neck and onto my décolletage  The next step is important, let it be absorbed before you continue on to primer.  I wait at least 3 minutes, longer if I'm not in a hurry.

I have read so many great reviews about the Feel the Moment Serum Sensory Primer I had to try it. So I am about to turn my beauty regimen on it's ear. I am changing everything. Changing my cleanser to the Theraderm, my primer to the It serum. Guess what, you are along for the ride.

I will post an interview with my Aunt, LIsa Humphrey from the Chattanooga Plastic Surgery Group later in the week. Hope we can find better skin together, 41 is creeping up real quick.

Good advice for my aging skin

I recently traveled home for an overnight stay to take care of some business I have to finish regarding property that my mother left me.  My aunt came by and she has always kind of been my go to for advice about skin care.

She has worked as a nurse for a local group of plastic surgeons for close to 30 years.  She has always spoke highly about fruit acids being the Holy grail of keeping aging skin wrinkle free and repairing sun damage as well as evening out skin tone. I have received several sample size gifts of this type of product called Theraderm. When I inquired today about getting and using a prescription of retinol A she quickly said why would I use an expensive prescription when I can purchase the Theraderm travel size set for $10 on sale through her office without a prescription. I told her that I had been using the Clinique 3 step system faithfully for 7 months.  It works for the most part but it doesn't seem to be reversing any damage just keeping breakouts away and maybe halting any further damage.  She told me although it's a great product it is known for being mild and great for very sensitive skin however, I need something much stronger now and at my age I want to be more aggressive if I want to protect my skin.
In conclusion, I am changing to the Theraderm system next week and I will track the results very closely and post my ongoing results on a weekly basis.

Much love and God bless,
